AN Abba Tribute Concert, organised by Crediton Boniface Rotary Club and held at Yeoford Community Hall on Saturday, July 18, has been described as a “great event”.

Live music was provided by “Abba’s Angels”, a superb Abba tribute band.

Paul Taylor, outgoing President of Crediton Boniface Rotary Club, said: “We had a packed hall with around 160 people attending, most of whom were up dancing and enjoying the music.

“The band were pumping out all classic hits which we all know and love, and whilst the band was packing up we were still enjoying a 70s disco.

“Adding to the fun was a licensed bar, and outdoors, courtesy of the fine weather, the barbecue selling pork and lamb rolls, and there was also a raffle.”

Money raised from the event, a staggering £2,800, went to Paul’s charity during his year in office (by kind permission of the new president Nick Yarnold), the West of England School and College Foundation at Countess Wear, Exeter.

Paul added: “This charity provides specialist support education and care for the visually impaired and those with other disabilities.  The funds will go towards specialist equipment and help fund a new sensory room package at the College.
