ANDREW Vacarri, known locally for pioneering the Bucaneer Music Club and also his work as a papier mache artist, came to the Crediton and Area branch of Devon Senior Voice this month to give a presentation about his work.
As well as a display of several of his art works, which he calls “pulptures”, and an accompanying PowerPoint display, Andrew demonstrated the construction of one of his coffins made from this recycled material. DSV members were intrigued, asking several questions and taking a closer look at the “Earth Sleeper” he had brought along.
Andrew will be holding papier mache workshops at the Art Centre this Autumn. For details contact him on 01363 777746.
Chair, Carole Towler, thanked him for his fascinating talk and invited him to stay for refreshments.
Our next meeting will be on August 10, when David Nation will give a talk about Crediton Museum.
All welcome. Free entry - donations invited towards refreshments etc. Call 01363 775502 for further information.
