STAGE, film and television actor, Luke Treadaway, who grew up in Sandford and went to school in Crediton, has landed the lead role in a new film.

He is set to star in the blockbuster, A Street Cat Named Bob: And How He Saved My Life, which is about a homeless man who overcomes a drug addiction, all thanks to a stray cat.

Luke is due to start filming for the screenplay, based on the bestselling autobiography of James Bowen, in October.

The book details his life on the streets, busking with his feline friend, Bob.
