DELICIOUS strawberries and cream with scones were served in the foyer of Crediton Methodist Church on Saturday, June 24.

The cream tea event attracted visitors who were on their way back from the Fun Day in Newcombes Meadow.

A total of £132 was raised for Crediton Methodist Church funds from the cream teas.

A stall selling home-made jams and chutneys did roaring business and a profit of £85 was made for the Refurbishment Fund.

Bronwyn Nott, on behalf of the church, thanked everyone who helped by baking the scones, picking the strawberries, serving the teas, making jams and chutneys and to the public for attending.

Outside, Elizabeth Greenslade had a stall selling jams, jellies, marmalade and chutneys she had made plus a few of the recipe books produced by the church and other books in aid of the church refurbishment fund.

She said it was: “A very enjoyable afternoon.”
