"THE FIGHT GOES ON" was the general view from leaders of Crediton Traffic Action Group on hearing that Devon County Council cabinet members are being recommended to approve an amended Hillside route for Crediton Industrial Link Road at their meeting next week.
County officers recommend that the Hillside route be approved, with further traffic and an environmental survey to be carried out to support a planning application, that the Western route be rescinded and the safeguarded route for Crediton Bypass be abandoned.
The proposed scheme has a project cost of £8 million.
CTAG chairman, Bob Edwards, said: "This announcement is really what I expected.
"It looks like we must fight on.
