SAINT Luke’s Church, Posbury will be holding its Country Fair at Downes House, Crediton on Saturday, July 7, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Henry Parker.

Crediton Town Band will be playing between noon and 2pm and Crediton Fire Station will be in attendance, represented by some of the retained fire fighters who will be taking, subject to operational emergencies, one of their fire appliances and the co-responder vehicle.

There will be a variety of stalls, including jewellery, plants, cakes, clothing and pottery. A free play area for younger children will be set up in the shade.

A family dog show will be held in the afternoon, kindly sponsored by St Boniface Veterinary Clinic.

There will be 12 classes, including handsomest dog, prettiest bitch, best party trick, and best pair. Rosettes will be awarded to the first three places and winners from classes will be put forward to the Championship.

Entries close at 12.30pm and the first class will commence at 1pm.

The committee is hoping that local enthusiasts will be attending to display their vintage tractors.

Visitors can enjoy the whole day from 11am.

There will also be a barbecue, Ploughman’s lunches, and cream teas available as well as a Pimms bar and other refreshments.
