FOLLOWING the government’s most recent guidance regarding Covid-19, Crediton Town Council has made the disappointing, but necessary decision, not to arrange a Remembrance Ceremony at the Crediton Town and Hamlets War Memorial this year.
It had been hoped to hold the Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday, November 8.
The Town Council has written to associations and groups that would normally lay a wreath to offer one adult representative from the group or association to lay a wreath at a pre-allocated time.
Groups or associations who wish to lay a wreath should register with Crediton Town Council Projects Officer Lisa Blake by emailing: [email protected] or telephone 01363 773717 by Friday, October 23.
Lisa told the "Courier": "The Parish Rector, Reverend Matthew Tregenza, has asked me to include information of a possible Remembrance service (time to be confirmed) where groups and associations can send ONE representative.
"Should you wish to take part, please email: [email protected] as soon as possible.
"Numbers in the church are strictly limited. There will be no parade from the church to the War Memorial."
