THIS year’s Copplestone Fun Day, which will be held on Saturday, September 12 from 12 noon to 5pm in the Recreational Field will have Music and Sport theme.

Again this year, Entertainingly Different, with Rob Pudner and Dexter Newman, will provide family-friendly fun.

Ashwater Community Steel Band will provide Caribbean tunes and singer-songwriter and Open Mic UK Grand Finalist 2014, Holy Morwenna will also be attending.

As well as the music, Sean Schofield will run the Junior Sports as well as Senior Sports for the mums and dads, and there will be Tug of War for all the family.

At the same time as the above there will also be a football competition run by Copplestone United.

There will be the Marquee with tea, coffee, cakes, burgers and hot dogs as well as bouncy castles, coconut shy, table top stalls, raffles, games, learn-to-play steel pans, lucky draw programme, face painting, wellie throwing and much, much more!

Entrance will be by the lucky draw programme at £2 per adult. All children will be admitted free-of-charge and all proceeds go to the Village Hall Fund.

In September the plan is to install concrete steps up to the football field, as the bank is very slippery, and grateful funding for this has come from the sale of Exeter Airport funding from Devon County Council.

Ken Warren, from Copplestone Recreation Association added: "At the same time we are installing concrete bases at the top of the field to enable the installation of Memorial Seats and Picnic Benches so the whole village can enjoy the view and the recreational field.
