A CREDITON lad has collected nearly every conker in the town but is on the hunt for more to make his collection total reach 5,000.

Daniel Southall (7), has been collecting conkers like crazy and is already up to an astonishing 4,793.

His father Jim, explained: “Daniel would come home from his school at Landscore with pockets full from the tree each day in the school grounds.

“He has since collected virtually every conker in People’s Park, in QE school grounds and all over the town to get them.

“Our next question is, what is he going to do with them when he reaches his total but we haven’t got the answer yet?”

One suggestion is that he may be able to plant some or give them to an organisation to plant locally.
