LAPFORD residents were given the opportunity to get information and advice and to raise concerns on a number of local issues during a recent Community Action Day.
Representatives included the Police, the Fire Service, Devon County Council and Mid Devon District Council, the Parish Council, Environmental Health and Primary Care Trust Health Team.
Julia Ryder, Community Safety Officer explained: "We are knocking on residents doors and giving them the opportunity to discuss local issues with the relevant agencies."
Of the 390 properties in Lapford, 139 residents were spoken to, 17 of those requested home safety advice and 47 requested fire safety checks.
Over the next few weeks the agencies will be making contact with the residents who have requested advice and services.
Feedback from the residents that were spoken to indicates that most enjoyed living in the village and had no issues at all.
Issues from other residents included the speed of the traffic through the village, the lack of, or inconsiderate parking within the village and lack of things for young people to do.
The issues raised from the action day will be passed to the relevant agencies who can then take any necessary action.
