KELVIN'S Charity Ploughing Match was last month held at Netherexe Barton, by kind permission of Ross May and family.
There was some fine ploughing and many ploughmen from across the South West attended as the event was a Devon, Cornwall and Somerset Three Counties Qualifier.
The competition judges were B Bulled, J Kerslake, D Bonning, C Norman, M Vowles, W Hodges, T Broom and R Stone. Steward was Peter Coles.
Champion ploughman was Colin Heard and reserve champion was Dave Harvey.
Principal winners were: High Cut - 1 R Hill, 2 M Holloway, Vintage Trailed - 1 D Harvey, 2 M Smale, 3 J Hodge, Vintage Hydraulic - 1 C Heard, 2 J Hill, 3 P Greet.
Classic - 1 T West, 2 H Symons, 3 P Grose, Semi-digger - 1 A Brewer, 2 H Dodd, 3 M Adams.
Multifurrow - 1 G Henson, 2 A Heywood, 3 P Pincombe, Reversible - 1 G Bulled, 2 C Reed, Two-furrow - 1 D Doffin.
Novice - 1 R Greenwood, 2 Mark Phillps, 3 M Phillips, Crawler - 1 G Soper, 2 D Eastley.

Profits from the day resulted in £500 being raised for the Laura Persey Trust and £175 for Netherexe Church.
