COLEBROOKE Church Fete had perfect weather for the event - but that was down to the celebrity who opened the event - BBC South West weather presenter Helen McKenzie.

Held at Colebrooke Amenity Area next to the Church, there were stalls selling crafts, plants, cakes, books, and more, as well as attractions including a lucky dip for the children and bumper raffle.

The church bells were rung to welcome everyone to the event and Helen was introduced by Canon Michael Hall.

After officially opening the event, Helen received a "thank you" bouquet of flowers from James Dunn, aged just three years.

Helen was also asked to judge the children's fancy dress competition, which had a "weather" theme and present the prizes. First prizewinner was Maisie-Sue Carpenter, aged eight.

Other attractions included children's country dancing by local children and guided tours to the top of the church tower.

Funds were raised for the upkeep of the parish church.
