SAINT Matthew’s Church at Coldridge will again be a beacon of light over Devon to celebrate Christmas.

The Parochial Church Council has agreed to once again floodlight the church during the festive season, until January 15, 2023.

The hill-top church will be lit from 5pm to 10pm each evening, reducing the lighting period each day and the number of days in order to make some necessary economies in energy consumption.

Coldridge resident John Smith said: “The church tower is a great beacon to the love, joy and peace for which we all yearn, and a lovely Christmassy welcome when travelling to the village.”
