ORGANISERS and guests at the weekly Coffee and Company, held in the Under Gallery at St Swithun’s Church, Sandford celebrated its first birthday. A celebration cake, made by Rita King was cut by two of the eldest parishioners, Barbara Knight and Doug Daw.

About 30 parishioners regularly attend Coffee and Company every Wednesday from 10.30am.

Linda Bennett Smith, a member of the church said: “We love opening the church to the community.

“The best part is seeing people chat and smile.

“It was originally a one-off but we are now weekly.”

Jean Hope and her team of helpers supply delicious cakes each week and everyone is invited to the free Coffee and
Company gathering.

A warm welcome is extended to all attending.
