AGE Concern Crediton & District has thanked a volunteer for giving up her time to make meals for elderly people in the community.
Clare Bainbridge, who has been a volunteer chef at Age Concern at the Deep Lane Centre since June, has been cooking for about 30 people each week.
She was presented with a voucher for Crediton Community Bookshop by Ellie Johnstone on behalf of Age Concern.
Ellie explained: “We have very much appreciated Clare’s hard work. She is a very kind and dependable person and she has also helped us with all sorts of problems including helping to solve the crossword.”
Jenny Berg, Chair of Age Concern said: “A huge thank you to Clare and also to Morrisons and Tesco who have supplied food and vouchers which have enabled us to provide the food free-of-charge.”
The charity is much in need of a new treasurer as the current one will retire in December. If you are looking for something worthwhile and would like to work for Age Concern, telephone 01363 775008 or email: [email protected] .
