THE Crediton Singers, now approaching its fifth year, is continuing to raise money for local charities with a free, Teatime Christmas concert at Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish Hall on Saturday, December 22.

The event starts at 4.30pm (doors open 4pm) and there will be refreshments available during the interval.

“One of the choir’s original aims was to help local charities and we’re proud to have helped to raise several thousand pounds for good causes.

“This year we’re supporting Hospiscare and we’re thrilled to be visiting Cheriton Fitzpaine. It’s a first for us and we’re really looking forward to it,” says Diane Cummings.

Gone is the usual 7.30pm concert ending late in the evening. The Crediton Singers prefer a tea-time concert and these have been successful. “It’s much more convenient for audiences, especially at this time of year, to be able to have the evening available to see friends and family. So we put on events starting at 4.30pm,” added Diane.

All Crediton Singers concerts are free to enter with a retiring collection.

This year, as well as singing carols and inviting the audience to join in, the singers have been working on a variety of music including hits from "The Greatest Showman", a tribute to The Spice Girls, anthems by leading English composer John Rutter, arrangements by American songstress Sally De Ford as well as Gospel and Pop hits.

Truly something for everyone. All are welcome to attend the concert.

The Crediton Singers meet for practice sessions on Monday evenings at Crediton United Football Club, Lords Meadow, from 7pm to 9pm.
