LADIES at St Swithun’s Church in Sandford have been busy putting together shoeboxes of donated items for the Samaritan’s Purse charity.

Sandford organiser, Margaret Phillips and helpers Jean Hallett, Elaine Stanlake, and Pamela Tilney-Ellis packed a number of shoeboxes in the Under Gallery of the church.

Altogether Sandford community and friends packed up 63 shoeboxes for the charity

containing gifts, donated by the congregation and members of the community including hand-knitted items, hairbrushes, toothbrushes, colouring books, pens, crayons, sweets, chocolates, toys and games.

All the shoeboxes were packed with gifts for either a boy or a girl and marked accordingly.

Margaret thanked everyone who contributed and helped to make the appeal such a success.
