CHERITON Fitzpaine Methodist Church hosted the annual Christian Unity Service, which this year was planned by the churches in Burkina Faso, a tiny landlocked country in West Africa.
The majority of the population are Muslim, and unfortunately, Christians are often persecuted there.
The theme was: "Go and Do Thou Likewise" from the Bible story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:37).
Our leader was Local Preacher, Pam Murphy, who emphasised the benefits of kind deeds to strangers.
There were representatives from St Matthew's Parish Church; Stockleigh English Church; Way Village Congregational and the Vineyard Church in Tiverton and each lit a candle to shine a light.
The service was well-attended despite the high winds, and we all enjoyed refreshments at the end.
