AFTER conducting Crediton Town Band at its annual Spring Concert on April 13, Chris Richards has stepped down after 16 years as musical director.

Band spokesman Eric Parkes said: “It is without question that through Chris’s hard work and dedication the band has risen to the standard of perfection clearly illustrated today.

“Obviously Chris is going to be very sorely missed by the band which hopes that he may return as a player in the future.”

As a memento, the chairman of the band, Jenna Hansford, presented Chris with a photo album containing detailed photos covering the last 16 years.

Eric said that this included major events which the band had been involved with in the UK and other parts of Europe.

Jenna thanked Chris for his contribution to the band which was echoed by the playing members and the band supporters.
