THE children in Year 3 and 4 at Landscore Primary School had a fantastic time learning about The Great Fire of London in 1666 and The Great Fire of Crediton in 1743.
All the teachers were impressed by how much the children remembered and their enthusiasm for this topic!
Jenny Maddison, Team Leader and Class Teacher, explained: "After building our own ’Tudor style’ houses we decided to line them up outside and see what happened when we set fire to them.
"It was a fantastic afternoon, and we were able to watch the fire spread between the houses and turn them to ash!
"We saw how flammable materials burn easily and how when houses are close together the fire spreads very quickly. ?"It was a great experience and something we know the children (as well as the staff!) won’t forget!"?
