CHILDREN and staff at Landscore Primary School in Crediton dressed up as their favourite book characters to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday, March 7.

Each teacher chose a story to read in the afternoon and children could choose which ones they wanted to listen to, giving a mix of different ages in each class. The stories included “The Cat in the Hat”, "The Day the Crayons Quit”, “Vesuvius Poovius” and “My Brother’s Famous Bottom Gets Crowned”.

The winners of two competitions were announced on the day.

The school photo competition “Let’s share a story photo” were Olivia Hubber (KS2) and Isobel Waltho (KS1).

The best costume competition winners were Dexter Luxton (KS1) and Joe Albiez (KS2).
