CHERITON Fitzpaine’s Monthly Market has been going from strength-to-strength since it was created in February 2016.
Held every second Saturday of the month from 10am to 12 noon at Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish Hall, it helps to support the hall and local small businesses and organisations.
The November market was extremely busy with around 26 stalls offering local fresh produce including bread, pasties, cakes, farm vegetables, meat and cheese. Also there were hand-made Christmas gifts and crafts.
A two minutes’ silence was held at 11am for Armistice Day.
Every month a team of volunteers serve hot bacon rolls and coffee, and a prize draw takes place.
Ann Nixon, the main co-ordinator of the market, said: "The market is a very friendly, community event for the village. The income raised helps towards continuing modernisation of the hall which is a great venue for all kinds of events."
She added: "Our Christmas Market will be held on Saturday, December 9, with an extended opening time of 10am to 3pm.
"Along with 28 stalls there will also be Santa’s Grotto, food served all day, and a bumper prize draw!
"We have a ’Facebook’ page for updates and information about the market."
