FOLLOWING the success of “An Evening with Auntie” - a spoof on the “Radio 4” programmes, Cheriton Fitzpaine Drama Club entertained villagers with another uproarious evening - Another Evening with Auntie.

Written by David Pink, the programme included excerpts from The Varkers, Gardener’s Question Time and Clare in the Community, although not quite as the original producers planned them!

Cast members picked up on irritating “for instances”, and the result was hilarious.

It was good to see Malcolm Yeates make one of his guest appearances in the village as the continuity announcer, and to see Vicky Lancelles keep a straight face despite the audience’s howls of laughter.

Having never been part of a studio audience, it was quite an experience for some of us to remain alert, never knowing when we would have to provide “music”.

This format, which is relatively new for the Drama Club, is very successful, and certainly gave us all a good laugh.
