TWO cheques were presented to local adult hospice charity Hospiscare at the premises of Ernest Jackson in Crediton on Thursday, February 14.
Julie Box (chairman) and Adam Box (treasurer) of the Crediton Running Network presented a cheque to Hospiscare corporate relationship manager, Richard Cousins for £1,000, which was raised by the Network at its 2018 10km run.
Almost 200 runners came from far and wide to take part in the challenging Crediton Crunch course running over hills and fields in the Crediton area and finishing with Breakheart Hill. Children took part in a 1km fun run.
The next Crediton Crunch will take place in 2020 and plans to be bigger and better.
On behalf of the Ernest Jackson community team, Rebecca Warren presented Richard with a cheque for almost £7,000 raised by the team at numerous events including pub quizzes, baking, raffles and an auction of promises.
Hospiscare is their charity of choice voted for by members of staff for the last two years.
Every £200 raised by the community team is matched by Ernest Jackson up to £200.
Richard, who was delighted to accept the cheques on behalf of the charity, said: “Everyone at Hospiscare is grateful to the staff at Ernest Jackson for choosing them as their charity for the last two years.
“The money raised by Ernest Jackson and the Crediton Running Network will make a huge difference to the care provided for local patients in Mid and East Devon.”
