THERE was a good turn out with 128 entries for its Charity Shoot at the second to last shoot of the season for Crediton Gun Club at its Uton field on Saturday, August 26.

The day was in aid of Posbury St Luke’s Church, the barbecue being run by Fiona Mortimer, chairman of Posbury St Luke’s Church Management Committee and a Trustee of the church and Jenny Wreford, secretary of the Church Mission.

The church is at the very early investigation and planning stage for its restoration including installing a toilet. Recent work has been installing a damp proof membrane and underfloor ventilation as well as replacing the floor and internal re-decoration.

To help with fundraising, the Gin Festival at Downes earlier this summer raised £1,800.

Proceeds from shoot and barbecue made in the region of £775 for the church.
