PAUL and Tara Conabeare of Evans Newsagents, Crediton, are progressing well with their fourth attempt to sell the property and have announced that all those who receive newspapers and magazines will receive a letter early next week explaining how they will receive deliveries in the future.

Tara explained: "We would like to confirm that News Team Group will be taking over all newspaper and magazine deliveries from January 22.

"We will be writing to you and News Team Group will also write to you to introduce themselves.

"They will supply exactly the same publications as we do, including the 'Crediton Courier'.

"Everything will be pretty much the same as we have provided during the 12 years we have been here at Evans Newsagents.

"It might take a little while for everything to run smoothly but please bear with us and the new company while we get it all set up for you.

"One benefit will be that all of the deliveries should be made by 8.30am each day, including those in rural areas like Yeoford and Cheriton.

"For papers reserved, we have been to Spar across the road and I am pleased to say that Spar will be selling a wider range of newspapers and magazines, will open from 6am for papers etc and will save reserved copies for those who request it.

"Fortunately it is just across the road so no distance for anyone to get to."

Tara added: "Tomorrow, Sunday, January 15 will be our last Sunday delivery.

"It would be great if people could show their appreciation to our paperboys and girls tomorrow and during the next week as the new delivery company uses adults for deliveries so it will be their last deliveries for us.

"I really want to thank the paperboys and girls as most have been with us for many years, some going on to become staff in the shop.

"We have run our haberdashery and wools section for the past 10 years and I must thank Tina Turner from Phillips and Co who advised us on what to do when we set it up."

Tara continued: "While newspapers and magazines will stop being delivered by us on January 21, all other stock in the shop will remain on 50 per cent off until we close the doors for the final time.

"We would like to take this opportunity to say 'Thank you' to all of our customers for their support over the last 12 years.

"It has been lovely getting to know all of our customers and I hope we have provided a good service to you, we have tried our best.

"Our lovely staff over the years have also been amazing, and we have been so lucky to have had the privilege of employing them.

"We do not yet have a final closing date for the shop but it will hopefully be before the end of February.

"We will miss seeing you all in the shop, but you still have some time, however we are very excited about our next chapter."
