YEAR 4 children at Hayward’s Primary School in Crediton took a trip back in time to Ancient Britannia and dressed up as Celts.
The classroom was turned into a Celtic roundhouse and the children found out about life in these times.
There was a visit from a Roman messenger who wanted the children to join the Romans. They had to decide whether to fight them or join them.
In the afternoon, the children were trained in Roman military tactics and a battle took place between the Celts and the Roman army.
The Roman army were highly disciplined, whereas the Celts had a more savage approach to war.
The day was great fun and Year 4 learned a lot while having fun too.
