CROWDS flocked to Crediton Town Square in the sunshine for the second charity fundraising Cars and Coffee event on Saturday, October 9, making it a huge success.

There was a great selection of classic, modern and modified vehicles for visitors to see and talk about with the proud owners, and music, refreshments and food were available throughout the event.

Crediton Foodbank was the chosen charity of the organiser, Dan Webb and his team from the Crediton Coffee Company and the event raised about £500 for the charity.

Crediton Foodbank ran the raffle on the day with Sarah Beverley (co-ordinator), Chris Parsons (Trustee) and volunteers, Karena Marshall and Richard Partridge selling tickets and collecting food donations that were taken along by people attending.

Prizes were kindly donated by local businesses and individuals. The top prize, kindly donated by OCD Detail UK, was a Full Detailing and six-year Ceramic Coating of the winner’s car to the value of £695.

Dan, who was delighted with the success of the event said: “It was well-attended by both the public and the exhibitors.

“Thank you to OCD Detail UK for their generous raffle prize and to the other businesses including Grape and Grain, The Green House, Sandford Orchards, Hanlons, Good Luck Tattoos, Hat-a-Cakes and Cox’s butchers.

“Thanks also to Jo Ward for sorting the electrics and to everyone else involved in the event, especially the volunteers from Crediton Foodbank.

“That’s now the second event and we look forward to returning with Cars and Coffee in the spring when we will be looking to do special events for other vehicle types including a Supercar Showdown.”

Dan added: “I was really happy with the results and the money raised for a second community group.

“I’m also grateful to the community and exhibitors for supporting Cars and Coffee.”
