INFORMATION events, organised by Devon Carers as part of Carers Rights Day (Friday. November 30) will take place across the county from Monday, November 26 to Saturday December 1.

On Tuesday 27 November and Friday, November 30 carers will be able to join the Pod, Devon Carers online community for carers, to ask a Solicitor from Michelmores questions about caring for their future, whether it’s regarding writing a will, mental capacity assessments, power of attorney, trusts or employment rights.

Carers visiting the Information Events will be able to meet Carer Support Officers and representatives from other organisations to gather more information about their rights and the support available to them.

Events are taking place across the county including the following locations:

Tuesday, November 27 - Information stand at Tiverton Community Hospital from 9am to 12.30pm.

Wednesday, November 28 - Exeter - Drop in session for Working Age Carers at The Conference Room, Co Lab (Wat Tyler House, King William Street EX4 6PD) from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. A representative from the Job Centre, Devon County Council and Michelmores Solicitors will also be attending.

Friday, November 30 - Tiverton Job Centre Plus (Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton EX16 6FF) from 9.30am to 12 noon - Drop In for working age carers with Carers Support Officer, Clare Moughton.

Ellie Taylor, Devon Carers Lead Practitioner for Awareness, said: “We have organised a range of information events across Devon where carers will be able to find out about the support and services available to them.

"These have been spread across the week and include day, evening, weekend and online events through the Pod, to ensure they are as accessible as possible.

"A number of these are being held jointly with other organisations, offering advice and support.”

Carers Rights Day aims to bring organisations across the UK together to help carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.
