LIFE continues to be busy at the Holy Cross Church in Crediton as the Advent season approaches.
There are services and social events which offer the opportunity for people that might feel lonely or isolated to meet with others.
A Drop-In for tea or coffee and cake is held in the Boniface Centre from 10am to 11.30am every Tuesday. There is no charge - just donations invited.
A short service of Holy Communion is held in the Lady Chapel in the church every Wednesday from 10.30am. This is followed by tea or coffee.
[email protected] will be held on Sunday, October 23 (and November 6 and 20) in the Boniface Centre at 3.30pm. This is a short informal service with video, songs and a talk for families and those who don’t do church.
Sandra Collier will give an illustrated talk about her trip to the Holy Land in the Boniface Centre on Wednesday, October 26 at 7.30pm. There is no charge, but donations are invited and will be shared between the Princess Basma Centre for disabled children on The West Bank and Crediton PCC. Tea and coffee will be available.
A coffee morning with a bric-a-brac stall will be held in the Boniface Centre on Saturday, October 29, from 10am to 12noon. Proceeds will go to Hospiscare as they celebrate their 40th anniversary. The Holy Cross is pleased to join with other churches in hosting this coffee morning.
The first of more informal services, without Communion, will be held each month. The first will be held on Sunday, November 6 at 9.30am.
Music will be provided by a small band and all are welcome to attend the service in this accessible building. Followed by tea and coffee.
“Going for a Sing” will be held in the Boniface Centre on Friday, November 18, from 10.30am to 12noon. This informal, fun singing group is a good opportunity to enjoy singing without being in a choir.
Refreshments are served and there is no charge - just donations invited to cover costs.
The annual St Nicholas Fair will take place in the Boniface Centre on Saturday, November 19, from 10am to 2pm.
The Fair will include a Grand Raffle, silent auction, cake stall, used stamps (foreign and British), silver plated, stainless steel and pewter items, books, bric-a-brac, crafted items and a medieval fruit machine!
More details about any of these services and events are available from Anne Jerman, Crediton PCC Secretary on 01363 772865 or email: [email protected] .
