THE Crediton and District committee of Macmillan Cancer Support has been busy during the past few months, details of which are given below.

A ploughman's lunch held at Down St Mary in August raised £208.

A two-day street collection at Okehampton brought in £416.20 whilst the proceeds of a two-day coffee morning at Down St Mary made £47.

The contents of static collection boxes at various sites in Crediton was £35.05.

Grateful thanks go to those who contributed and to those whose premises held the boxes.

Future event. A curry and quiz evening will be held at the Fox and Hounds hotel, Eggesford on Thursday, November 12.

Curry will be served at 6.30pm for a 8pm start to the quiz. For further details please telephone 01363 85118.

The committee is busily planning events for 2010 and for the following year when Macmillan will be celebrating its centenary year.
