LAPFORD Over 60 Club members spent its July meeting at Homeleigh Garden Centre, near Crediton, where they enjoyed a delicious cream tea.
This was our annual treat, and long may it continue!
A big thank you to Margaret Thorne for organising the trip for us.
We are a friendly organisation and a registered charity, set up for residents of Lapford to get together once a month.
Our original constitution was adopted in April 1973, and we have been serving the community since then.
We meet at the ARK for tea/coffee and a chat on the last Thursday of the month.

At our meetings we invite a variety of speakers to entertain us, the next one being Dr Todd Gray on August 28, who will tell us about Bench Ends of Devon Churches, including the ones at Lapford.
We like to get the members involved in the meetings, giving them a chance to choose what they would like to do at the meetings and suggestions for speakers.
This encourages members to attend meetings and come on the trips.
On September 9 we are making our annual trip to Widecombe Fair and at our meeting on September 25 we have a visit from Chris with his owls.
On October 30 we are getting “crafty” and making Christmas cards and on November 27 we will take a shopping trip to Clarks Village.
Our Christmas lunch will be at the Waie Inn on December 3.
The Travelling Talesmen (Story Teller) will visit us on January 29.
Our plans for February 26 and March 26 have yet to be organised.
Our AGM will take place on April 30.
Hopefully we will have another thrilling programme for next year.
