MARK and Di Perkin celebrating the first birthday of Crediton Cobblers this month.
The couple, who married six years ago and live in Copplestone, decided to open the shop in Crediton more than a year ago.
Mark, who has been in the trade for 26 years, working in East Devon, said: “Whenever I told people what I did for a job, they would say ‘Crediton needs a cobbler’ so that’s why we opened the shop in the town."
The cobblers initially offered shoe repairs as well as stitching and patching on leather items including handbags and replacement boot zips.
Since they opened they have expanded their services and also offer key cutting. A recent addition is key cutting for cars and motorbikes for a range of different makes. The keys can be cut on the premises, while you wait and for many makes can be up to 50 per cent cheaper than the main dealers.
Mark also provides an engraving service on the premises and can supply trophies.
The shop also sells a range of items including shoe polish, laces, replacement watch batteries and watch straps.
A range of coloured fun keys in a variety of designs are also available. For your shed or garage there is a selection of padlocks available, in different sizes from small to large.
Call in at Crediton Cobblers at 107 High Street, Crediton to see what’s available.
The shop is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm weekdays and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays.
Mark and Di’s motto is “If shoes are worth wearing, they are worth repairing."
