CREDITON Chamber of Commerce is working on some new and exciting projects.

The chamber has a new lease of life - its aims and objectives include having a more interactive online presence, reaching out to as many local businesses as possible and working with all the other groups in the town, and the "Crediton Courier" to continue to improve what Crediton has to offer as well as dealing with business and commerce issues, big and small.

The elected officers of Crediton Chamber of Commerce are: Tara Conabeare of Evans Newsagents - chair, Leigh Arthur of Crediton Pet Shop - vice chair, Bruce Evans of Grape & Grain - treasurer, and David Oliver of Olivers Bakery - secretary.

Current projects include the development of its new website which is still in development. This will allow people to find local businesses and allows anyone to log on to the site and view members details, joining forms etc. As well as the latest Chamber news.

Dates for meetings and aims and objectives will also be available on the website.

There is also a "Facebook" page at: creditonchamberofcommerce .

A new Chamber logo has been designed by Daniel Willers of Yellow Mouse Studio Ltd., Crediton who kindly developed the new logo and worked closely with Tara.

Chamber plans to do some canvassing locally in the coming weeks - The new team feel it is very important to try to connect with all businesses - large or small, in or out of town.

Since taking office the members of the new group have had some very positive feedback.

The Crediton Tesco store at Wellparks has set up a meeting with members of the Chamber to discuss how they can help to promote the local businesses of the town - This has been welcomed by the group.

Following the success of the High Street Traders group, the team is very keen to continue to work on events during the course of the year promoting all local businesses and making the town a fun and desirable place to be - So look out for these up-coming events and promotions.

Chamber has once again volunteered members of the group to put the beautiful and attractive flags up all around the town from June 12.
