A GRAND total of 44 people attended Bow and District Historical Society's social evening held at Bow Village Hall on Monday, November 27.

"The favourites were Celery and Stilton and Leek and Potato which reached the bottom of the pots first, though not until after second helpings were being served.

"There was no time for anyone to doze off during the AGM as the business was conducted briskly, including the election of three new committee members to join the seven existing members.

"Mark Norman was a wonderfully knowledgable and witty speaker on Devon folklore, with examples from Bow itself and nearby places.

"We could have listened for longer but time was getting on, so he will be asked to come back and tell us more."
