A LOCAL youngster has read as many as 100 books in a library reading challenge.

In recognition of her achievement, Esme has received a gold Secret Book Quest certificate from Crediton Library.

She has particularly enjoyed reading the Treehouse book series by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton.

A fun and free way to get children reading, the Secret Book Quest involves reading a set number of books, collecting stickers and deciphering a code.

Children can sign up for the challenge at their local library.
