BIG books, small ones, hard back and paper backs, novels, history, books of things to do and make, all sorts of books were to be found on the stall run by the Friends of Crediton Library at Crediton Farmers’ Market on Saturday, May 20.

All the books had been given by people who support the library on Belle Parade. There will be another stall at the market in the autumn.

Funds raised will go towards the events organised by the Friends at the library such as the Lego Club which goes on through the year and the events for children organised by the Library Supervisor, Béatrice Coveney.

Crediton Library is closed on Wednesdays, is open until 6pm on Mondays and Fridays, until 5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on Saturday morning.

Its wide range of facilities includes local studies materials, PCs with internet, email plus a specially adapted machine for people with disabilities.

The Friends have recently bought folding tables which were put to good use that morning and are useful in the library.

It is now raising funds to buy black-out blinds.
