THE children at Sandford School enjoyed a science day outdoors, exploring the variety of bugs in their school grounds.
Each child, from Reception class to Year six, was involved in a BioBlitz bug hunt in the school habitat areas and then extended their learning with observational drawing and discussions of bug biology.
The children were assisted by Simon Roper and his Ambios team, who worked with the children to explore in detail the concept of similarities and differences.
Headteacher, Lois Briard said: “We had a super day’s learning, even amongst a few showers.
“We always enjoy being outdoors as much as possible and this exploration day was a great addition to our Outdoor Learning programme.”
