CREDITON bookshop The Bookery will present an evening of escapism, passion and adventure on Wednesday, July 26, at 7pm, with acclaimed romantic fiction writers, Devon’s own Veronica Henry and Cornwall’s Liz Fenwick.

They will be discussing their latest books, Liz Fenwick’s "The Secret Shore", and Veronica Henry’s "Thirty Days in Paris".

The duo will also be sharing their secrets about how to keep the reader guessing, where they find their inspiration, and what makes the very best romantic hero.

"The Secret Shore" is set in Cornwall in 1942 - a dangerous time to fall in love - and follows the romance between Merry, an accomplished mapmaker in the Navy, and an enigmatic American officer.  It’s an uplifting and intriguing historical story by the award-winning "queen of the contemporary Cornish novel" (The Guardian).

"Thirty Days in Paris" takes the reader on an exhilarating feel-good trip to city of love by the bestselling author, and tells the story of secrets and new beginnings for Juliet, who once left a little piece of her heart in Paris and, now, separated from her husband and with her children flying the nest, realises it’s time to get it back…

Both are award-winning writers; Veronica Henry is a former recipient of Romantic Novel of the Year for her book, "A Night on the Orient Express" and Liz Fenwick is the winner of the RNA Popular Romantic Fiction Award 2022.

The Bookery has paired these two pageturners with the ideal wine accompaniment, so that people can join them for romance and a glass, the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

Signed copies will be for sale at the event. Tickets, £6 (includes discount on books at the event).
