YOUNG footballers at Crediton had a treat at a recent training session. Bertie Cozic, Exeter City's French centre mid-fielder, joined members of Crediton Youth Under 15s.

Bertie (31), a French youth international, has been with City for four years and part of their rise from non-league to where they are now.

He is sponsored by Mike Salter, managing director of Crediton-based building firm R J Salter and Son Limited. Mike is a life-long Exeter City supporter and has been a season ticket holder since the early 1990s.

He played for Crediton "many moons ago", is now manager of the U15s, is a committee member, and has been involved with the club for eight years. His son plays in the team as defender.

Saying how grateful he was to Bertie for coming to Crediton, Mike commented: "It is not every day a professional footballer comes and knocks a ball about here, especially a French one!"

Five of the team are season ticket holders for City and watch the home games every week.

Mike has organised a treat for any youngsters below the age of 16. He has 20 free City tickets that school teams, youth clubs or any other such youth organisation can apply for.

"Last year we gave tickets to Vranch House," said Mike. "There are a few top games for which the tickets would not be available." Please apply via email to: [email protected]">[email protected].
