All levels of members and guests of gardening ability will be welcome for an illustrated talk by local gardener and prize geranium grower, Bert Jewell on Tuesday, April 26, at the Meadow Suite of the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre.
We meet at 7.30pm for refreshments and a chat before settling down to what is set to be an informative evening. Don’t forget your notebook to help you to remember those fresh ideas!
Membership is £10 a year and the card entitles you to a discount at a number of local stores and entry to our members and guests events, or the fee is £2.50 per meeting.
We had an excellent turnout for our Annual General Meeting and member participation was very helpful in formulating new ideas for the way forward for what is still a very young club in Crediton.
We have some changes to our committee this year, as well as welcoming new members and saying thanks to John and Christine Downes who have so ably guided the club during the past few years.
Officers elected were: Chair: Krys Dunn, vice-chairman: David Cann, secretary and events: shared by Celia Boyle and David Cann, membership: Jill Vanstone, treasurer: Pam Bedford, refreshments: Rosalind Hobbs and support: Rita King and Sheila Parsons.
After the very prompt AGM, Pine Cottage specialist grower Dick Fulcher transported members with an illustrated presentation.
We were transported on a breath-taking whirlwind tour of fabulous local and international plants and gardens during the seasons.

Saturday, April 30: The Alpine Garden Society will be holding their Spring Show at West Exe School in Exeter.
Tuesday, May 24: The club will be having an evening visit to The Lookout in Lympstone. It is rated as No 2 in Alan Titchmarsh’s top 10 “most challenging garden”.
Tuesday June 28: You are invited to join us for a walk around Crediton allotments.
