TWO cadets from the Crediton Detachment of Devon Army Cadet Force have been presented with their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards by the inspecting officer, Major David Price, Officer Commanding for North Devon ACF C Company.

Cadets Sofie Tait and Josie Allway received the awards for taking part in an expedition, volunteering in the detachment, learning a new skill with the cadets and completing a physical assessment test.

Major Price also awarded five Heartstart First Aid certificates to Cadets Kirby Jones, O Kennedy, F Fairchild, M Mills and C Turner, who had all completed a course in Emergency Life Support sponsored by the British Heart Foundation.

Major Price also presented the Jamie Fleming Award, for most improved cadet, to Jamie Littler.

Lieutenant Nigel Cooper of A Company Cadets Devon Army Cadet Force said: "Jamie earned the trophy because she has put in a great deal of effort to her cadet duties and she helped to raise funds for the Army Benevolent Fund."
