A VERY successful open meeting was enjoyed by members and visitors of Crediton Flower Club, held at Sandford Parish Hall on September 8.

The delightful and inspiring demonstration by Sarah Pepper, from Broadclyst, was entitled “Autumn Mellow”.

Sarah runs her own studio in Broadclyst where she organises workshops and flower arranging lectures. She has great skill as a flower arranger and enjoys doing wedding flowers.

Sarah produced five spectacular arrangements and whilst each arrangement was very different, all typified Autumn in all its guises.

The first arrangement cleverly interpreted a stained glass panel using old man’s beard, sweet chestnut and heuchera surrounded by peach carnations and rosehips.

In another arrangement Autumn colours were blended together using sedum bullet alliums, love lies bleeding and harlequin roses arranged within a large picture frame, creating a real 3D effect - very clever.

Mary Nunn gave a vote of thanks for what had been a delightful evening and after the raffle a bring and share supper was enjoyed by all.

The next meeting will be the AGM on October 12 at the Boniface Centre, starting at 7.30pm. New members and visitors are welcome.
