A COUPLE from New Buildings, Sandford, celebrated their Platinum Wedding Anniversary on September 12.

Austin and Gwen Cleverdon celebrated 70 years of marriage by returning to the church in which they were married, St Swithin’s Church, Sandford, for a morning service on September 13, driven there by their son Peter.

They all then enjoyed lunch with daughter Sandra, her husband John, grandsons and their five great grandchildren.

There was also a celebratory cake and bubbles!

Austin and Gwen, both in their 90s, have lived all of their married life at Sandford Ash.

Gwen belongs to Morchard Bishop WI. They both enjoy farmers monthly meetings/lunches and visits with Peter.

They received a card of congratulation from the King and Queen. They thank everyone for cards, kind messages and flowers.
