It is currently appealing for volunteers to help maintain the services it offers.
It runs a day centre, based in Deep Lane, which offers a welcoming environment, great company, a range of stimulating activities and a delicious two course lunch Monday to Friday.
Transport is provided to ensure that guests enjoy a comfortable journey to and from the centre.
The day centre also offers weekly opportunities for foot care and a twice monthly art club is held at the centre on Thursdays.
It also offers a home support service which comprises of weekly visits by volunteers to clients’ homes to offer befriending. This is hugely appreciated by clients who eagerly look forward to the regular companionship and support these visits bring.
Age Concern Crediton also offers a domestic cleaning service provided by a friendly and interested member of the community who also makes time to listen and offer support when necessary.
The charity also provides a shopping service for those who might find the large weekly shop challenging. All of the charity’s volunteers are thoroughly vetted and checked.
Kate Tucker, Home Support Volunteer Co-ordinator, said: “We rely hugely on our volunteers who help us provide the services we offer; without their generosity and commitment we would be unable to maintain the quality and variety of provision.
“In order to maintain these vital services for older people in our community, we desperately need new volunteers, particularly for home visiting and for driving guests to and from the day centre.
“If you are able to volunteer on a regular basis for any of these services we would love to hear from you.
