AN afternoon of music was held, near Crediton, at Bow Village Hall on Sunday, August 21 to remember Mike Pratt who was the Postmaster at Bow, where he and his wife Sally lived for 20 years.
Mike, who died earlier this summer, loved music and it was very much a part of his and Sally’s life and a fitting way to remember him.
During the afternoon, organised by the Heart of Devon, family and friends relaxed to music from The Tancy Rice Trio with Tom Unwin on Keyboard and Ron Phelan on bass.
Devon County Councillor, Nick Way spoke fondly of Mike who was a member of Bow Parish Council, Mid Devon District Council and a member of the Liberal Party.
He said: "I have fond memories of the time we spent working together on District Council.
"We all remember the post office at Bow and the amount of work he put in.
"He led a full life and enjoyed many things such as gardening, as Sally did, and still does."
This was followed by tea and cake to round-off the afternoon.
The event raised £221.63 for The Burston Recreational Field, (Burston Meadow) fund.
