MID Devon Tractor, Engine and Machinery Group is holding a “Working Day” on Saturday, September 3 from 10.30am to 4pm at Guscotts, Coleford (EX17 5DF).

The actual site will be a field which is not at the farmyard itself, but lies off the Coleford to Bow road.

From Coleford, go up the hill towards Bow, pass over the crossroads at Broomhill Cross, down the other side past the Water Pumping Station (on the right) and on round the left curve where the field entrance will be clearly marked on the right-hand side.

From Bow, take the turning signposted Coleford beside the Bow Medical Practice and proceed for a couple of miles along the lane towards Coleford. The entrance will be on the left about a quarter-of-a-mile after a dip over a stream and up a sharp incline.

The Group is grateful to the White family for hosting the day.

There will be a marquee in which there will be covered seating (although, it’s sure to be sunny day in Mid Devon!). There will also be refreshments and a raffle. A portable “loo” will be on site.

There is no admission charge, but there will be collection boxes for charity. Onlookers, photographers and/or anyone interested in the working history of the glorious local countryside would be made welcome.
