WHEN Dawn Tonkin attended her final meeting as leader of the Cub pack attached to the 1st Crediton Scout Group she was presented with a hand-made card signed by the cubs, a collection of framed photographs and a bottle of wine.
Dawn, who lives in Crediton, has been cub leader for three years and has resigned to spend more time with her family.
The presentations were made at a summer bingo held at the Old Town Hall. The bingo raised £146.75 for group funds.
From the executive committee Dawn received a beautiful bouquet and the thanks of the committee "for all her hard work and commitment to the cubs."
"She will be very much missed by all the cubs, parents and other members of the leadership," said chairman Andrew Tonkin.
There will be a leaders meeting at the Three Little Pigs, Crediton, on Wednesday,
August 11, starting at 7.30pm. Any Courier readers who would like to help the Group in this highly rewarding youth area is invited to attend the meeting and meet the team.
Beavers, cubs and scouts are always looking for willing volunteers to lead or share their expertise to support and help achieve their proficiency badges.
The group express their thanks to local; businesses for their practical support - Penny's Pantry, Richie's Bistro, Olivia James, Waie 2 Play, Ashton's Coffee Lounge, Jason Mew Furniture, Treloars Delicatsesan, Four Seasons, Cox's and Bristows.
