THE Tuesday meeting of the Age Concern Memory Cafe, held at the Deep Lane Centre in Crediton on May 31, was devoted to a celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

A variety of hats with a royal theme were worn by those present.

Before the tea there were reminisces of encounters with members of the royal family.

“Land of Hope and Glory” and “Jerusalem” were sung followed by the loyal toast and the singing of the “National Anthem”.

The guests then enjoyed a sumptuous tea provided by volunteers and guests.

During the tea there was a royal quiz devised by the resident quiz master.

At the end of the afternoon everyone present received a Jubilee mug, flag, pen and shopping bag.

The gifts were kindly supplied by the Devon Consortium of Memory Cafes.
