THE Crediton Lions Club has received £750, a share of £100,000 from the Lions Clubs Foundation of the British Isles, which it has donated to Age Concern Crediton.

Age Concern Crediton is taking a lead caring for the elderly and isolated in the Crediton area due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Lions Clubs Foundation of the British Isles has shared £100,000 to Lions Clubs across the British Isles to support local communities during the COVID-19 crisis.

Lion Peter Bryan, Crediton Club President, said: “This is a significant sum of money that we are putting to good use straightaway.

"This Coronavirus pandemic is hurting lots of local people in lots of different ways - just because we are all social distancing doesn’t stop us from caring - we are doing what we can, and this cash injection will help us do more.”

Peter went on to say: “Crediton Lions hope to be able to do more within our community and announcements will be made as soon as possible.”

When a humanitarian crisis strikes, the Lions Clubs Foundation of the British Isles works with and is guided by its own Lions members who are ordinary people actively working at the heart of their communities.
